CHIOS ISLAND TRAILS

 

MILKA GROUP AFTER TRAIL AT RECEPTIONThe MILKA Ice Cream Industry representatives visited the Mesta 13th century Medieval Castle located in Chios Island. They walked the trail between the two medieval villages Mesta - Olympoi which was proved to be an unforgettable experience for everyone. The starting point of the trail is right outside of Mesta village where there is a sign providing information about the trail.  

 

The beautiful natural features, the rare flowers and local plants with the various colors and scents follow you through the entire walkway justifying Chios Island's reputation as a place of aromas.

 

 

TRAIL TABLOID OLIMPI MESTA

At about one third of the trail the hikers came across the old aqueduct, an ancient monument still filled with water. Almost half way and to the right side of the trail the hikers found the ancient church of St. Antonios with it's beautiful churchyard, providing an ideal resting and picnic area. From the churchyard you can now see the two medieval villages and the ruins of the old windmills.

At the end of the trail they visited the village of Olympoi where they enjoyed the local orange drink "kampos" at the village square,

 

The Mesta - Olympoi trail is a wonderful experience for everyone visiting Mesta. The trail itself is classified as easy, therefore young kinds over the age of 6 and pets can follow through
